About Me
My interest to serve others and help alleviate suffering can be seen through my history in a variety of human services roles. Starting in 2009, I began volunteering on a weekly basis at a state correctional facility (prison) while completing my undergraduate education. After graduating four years later, I began working on increasing food security in low income neighbors of San Diego. Working closely with refugee and immigrant-dense communities, I partnered with local farmer's markets and provided financial subsidies to low income families to purchase healthy food. After five years of this community work, I moved into behavioral therapy. From 2014 to 2019 I practiced applied behavior analysis (ABA) with kids, adults, and their families to help reach therapeutic goals.
In 2018, I began my formal study of cognitive therapy and began practicing more of these techniques. During my internship, I worked with children and families in an outpatient community clinic. After graduating my graduate program in 2020, I moved into working via telehealth at the height of the pandemic. I appreciated working with a wide variety of individuals presenting with a diverse range of symptoms. I primarily work with adults and am also competent and skilled at working with children.
In addition to providing individual therapy to adults across California, I value providing therapeutic treatment to my community. I was among the first clinicians of San Diego's Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT). MCRT provides 24/7 crisis intervention for anyone experiencing a mental health or addiction emergency.
Now you can find me continuing to work in my community as an employee with the County of San Diego. Working closely with hospitals, probation, psychiatrists, and other community workers, I am able to bring the healing benefits of therapy to San Diego's most vulnerable populations.
